How to prepare a socks sample brief

Identify whether the collection is for everyday wear, sports, work or gifting. Include the intended wearer, size range and sock height. A reference photo is useful, but add notes explaining which details should be retained or changed.
Share a known fiber composition when available. If you are starting from a handfeel reference, say so rather than guessing a composition. Specify cushioning areas, cuff preferences and any heel or toe reinforcement. Ask the sampling team to confirm the yarn and knitting construction that suit the intended use.
Provide editable artwork when you have it, along with color references, logo position and approximate dimensions. A logo that works in print may need adjustment for knitting. Review its appearance on an actual sample before approving bulk production.
State quantity per style and color, size distribution and the number of pairs per retail pack. Include bands, hang tags, barcodes or boxes. Hanlong publishes a general socks MOQ reference of 1,000 units per color per style; confirm the unit definition and final minimum for your particular construction and packaging.
Record comments on fit, cuff pressure, color, pattern, handfeel and packaging against one identified sample version. Keep the approved reference and written changes together. Sampling time depends on materials and construction; confirm the schedule before committing to your launch date.
