Your private-label packaging checklist

Prepare pack quantities, artwork, labels and carton instructions before production.

Choose the retail pack

Specify whether each pack contains one item, multiple items or a coordinated set. Explain the sales channel and display needs. Paper bands, hang tags, sleeves, bags and boxes have different space and handling requirements; discuss them alongside the product dimensions.

Confirm artwork and label information

Provide approved brand artwork and the information required by your destination market or retailer. This may include composition, care instructions, size and responsible business details. Have the requirements reviewed for the actual product and market rather than reusing an unrelated label.

Match identifiers to the assortment

List the barcode assigned to each sellable pack and associate it with the correct style, color and size. Agree where it will appear. Check printed codes and human-readable text against the buyer's data before approving artwork.

Plan the shipping cartons

Confirm units per pack, packs per carton, size/color assortment and carton marks. Share any retailer-specific handling requirements before packing begins. Carton dimensions and weights should be confirmed from the actual packing plan.

Approve a complete reference

Review the product, labels and packaging together. Keep the approved artwork version and packing instructions with the sample comments. Packaging changes can affect materials, minimum quantities and timing, so close outstanding decisions before bulk production.
